Carolyn D. Rushing, of Palm Coast, Florida passed away on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2021. She was 77.  Carolyn was born July 4, 1943 in Bessemer, Alabama, the son of Joe and Flora (Farmer) Dennis.

Carolyn met her husband Robert (Bob) Rushing in 1963 and they were married on March 16, 1966. Carolyn worked for 19 years as an operator and customer service representative for Southern Bell and ATT.  Upon leaving AT&T Carolyn worked in customer service for American Heritage Life Insurance and its transition to Allstate Workplace. Her last 5 years before retiring in 2013 were for Security First Insurance in Ormond Beach, Florida.

Carolyn made friends easily and when a friendship was formed, it was important to her and was to be maintained.  She had friends from the years in the insurance industry that have been real and extend some 30 years. While not active in a local church, she was raised as a Baptist Christian and those values were constant in the daily lives of she and Bob.

Carolyn was preceded in death by a brother Wayne Dennis and a sister Barbara Ann Dennis. She is survived by a brother Mark Dennis of Lake View Alabama.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, February 9th at Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast, 220 Palm Coast Pkwy SW, Palm Coast, Florida 32137.  Visitation will be held from noon until the time of the service.  Pastor Wiley Lowe will officiate.  Arrangements are under the direction and care of Lohman Funeral Home Palm Coast-(386) 449-1100.
