Carole Ann Redmond passed away on February 13, 2023, following a courageous two-year battle with the after effects of Covid 19. Carole was born in Portland, Maine on October 4, 1936, the eldest daughter of Lloyd H. Savage and Angela (Russo) Savage of Portland, Maine. Carole grew up in the little Italy section of Portland and graduated from Portland High School in 1954. Carole had won several beauty pageants including being named Maines Apple Queen in 1955. After high school, Carole attended Grays Business College in Portland prior to marrying David E. Redmond in 1956 (divorced in 1983). Some of Carole's fondest memories were from the early years raising her six children near the ocean on Hannaford Cove Road in Cape Elizabeth. The family later moved to Biddeford where Carole had worked as an Inventory Control Specialist at West Point Pepperell where she later retired. Carole moved back to Portland in the late 1980's to care for her aging mother, Angela. Following her mother's death in 1998, Carole relocated to Florida to help firefighter daughter, Arleen, raise her granddaughter, Bailey and was an active member of Calvary Christian Center in Ormond Beach, Florida. After Bailey fledged the nest, Carole became a thriving snowbird well into her 80's, spending summers in her home land of Maine with her northern children and grandchildren and winters with her son Rich and his beloved Rottweiler's Hans and Zira which she loved to spoil with endless treats. Carole as a person who lived her faith and openly shared with anyone who crossed her path the tenets by which she lived: God first, family second and then everything else. Carole was a lifelong sports fan and never missed one of her boy's football or baseball games. Carole was fondly known as Meme to her large brood, which also included many family and friends of the family.

Carole will always be remembered by all who loved her as a spitfire who was clear on her convictions and who navigated the challenges she faced in life with courage, tenacity, and unwavering faith in God. When asked how she wanted to be remembered, she responded as someone that believed and trusted in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. She will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her and would always end each visit with, "I love you and Plead the Blood,".

Carole is predeceased by her parents and younger sister Joan L. (Savage) Trefry of Portland, Maine and survived by brother Donald Savage (wife Sharon) of South Portland, daughter Maureen Redmond (Marc) of Biddeford, son Michael Redmond (wife Karen) of Kennebunk, daughter Kathleen Redmond Miller (husband Paul) of Gorham, daughter Colleen Redmond (husband Mike) of Sarasota, Florida, son Rich Redmond (wife Raysa) of old Orchard Beach and Deland, Florida, and daughter Arleen Redmond-Skille (husband Trent) of New Smyrna Beach, Florida; five grandchildren Danielle, Joseph, Kelsey (husband Jonathan), Bailey, and Megan and four great grandchildren Destiny, Cadin, Aliviana, and Skyler. A Christian Service will be held at Jones, Rich & Barnes in Portland, Maine on March 24, 2023 at 11 am.
