Carole Annette Benge, 84, of Port Orange, FL. joined our Lord on Tuesday, March 16th.
She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to Kathryne and Kenneth Tygrett and older sister to Susan Fields.
Nearly 65 years ago, she married the love of her life, Jack William Benge, and they soon moved to Port Orange, FL. She worked at Sears for 25 years and was a founding member of Epiphany Catholic Church. She was a Eucharistic minister, catechist, taught religious education, and belonged to many other ministries.
Carole was the beloved mother of Joni Huntt (Steve) of Port Orange, Brian Benge (Betsy) of Coral Springs, James Benge of Port Orange and preceded in death by son Richard Benge. She was the proud grandmother of 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She loved traveling, cooking, sewing, exercising, and playing games.
Visitation will be on Sunday, March 21
st
from 2pm to 4pm at Lohman Funeral Home, Dunlawton Ave., Port Orange.
A Celebration of Life Funeral Mass will be held 11am Monday, March 22 nd at the Catholic Church of the Epiphany, 201 Lafayette St., Port Orange. Burial will follow at Daytona Memorial Park, 1425 Belleview Ave., Daytona Beach.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Halifax Health Hospice.
