Carol Sue
Melville
Jan 16, 1935 — Jun 21, 2018
Daytona Beach Shores
Carol S. Melville, 83, of Daytona Beach Shores, passed away peacefully at Halifax Health Hospice Care Center, surrounded by her children and grandchildren on Thursday, June 21, 2018. She was born January 16, 1935 in Philippi, West Virginia and was the 13 th of 14 children. Her parents were Grover Cleveland Butcher and Dorothy Butcher. The Butcher family (whom Carol adored) moved from West Virginia to Daytona Beach, Florida in 1946. Carol was married to Andrew E Melville "Corky" and they traveled the country and the world together for work and pleasure. They raised two children and taught them the values of hard work and family values. Carol loved her family and attended every notable event in her children's and grandchildren's lives. We often joked that she would "live till she dies" and that's exactly what she did. She loved her friends and together they traveled the globe, took Zumba classes, attended line dancing, dined and entertained for as long as she possibly could. If you were close to Carol, you would know she was a proud individual and a proud grandmother. She was funny, a good friend, quick to give you the shirt off her back, or to tell you exactly what she thought – good or bad. No matter what she was doing, she did it in style and she did it her way. She is predeceased by her husband Andrew, her parents and 12 brothers and sisters. She is survived by her sister Patricia Dees of Daytona Beach Shores, her daughter Debra Sue Reynolds (Dave Reynolds) of Springfield Illinois, and her son Andrew E Melville Jr (Bonnie Melville) of Chapel Hill, NC. She has five grandchildren, Ron Hudgins, Jason Hudgins (Tanya Hudgins), Ashley Lynne Melville, Mason Jennings Melville (Ashley Melville) and Kaley Marie Melville, and 6 Great Grandchildren. Funeral Services will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 26 th at 11:30 am at Lohman Funeral Home; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. The family will begin receiving at 10:00 am. Arrangements are under the care of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Condolences for the family may be shared at www.lohmanfuneralhomes.com
