Funeral services for Officer Carlos A. Johnson 33 of Daytona Beach who passed away Thursday August 16 2007 will be held at the Allen Chapel 580 George Ingram Blvd. Daytona Beach on Wednesday August 22 2007 at 11:00am. A visitation will be held at Baggett & Summers Funeral Home on Tuesday August 21 2007 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm. Interment will be at Daytona Memorial Park.
Officer Johnson was born October 23 1973 in Jacksonville FL and moved to Daytona Beach in 2000 where he had been a Daytona Beach Police Officer for the last seven years. Carlos was known among his fellow officers as being highly aware of his image. His uniform was pressed and creased perfectly; his patrol car was detailed and spotless. He was even presented the Distinguished Service Citation form the Chief of Police in 2006. Carlos met Tania Valez here and in October 2005 they were married. Tania brought three children to their marriage but Carlos loved and cared for his step children as if they were his own.
Carlos was known to enjoy Basketball the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and when he had a chance playing Nintendo Wii.
Those who will remember Carlos include his wife Tania three step children Jordan 9 Isabela 10 and Ashley 13. Of course he will also be sadly missed by all his fellow officers.
