CARL AUGUST JOHNSON

Carl Johnson 76 passed away January 26 2009 at Stuart Meyer Hospice House in Palm Coast. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday February 7th at First United Methodist Church of Palm Coast at 11:00 am with Chaplain Harry Gilman presiding.

Carl was born October 17 1932 to Olof and Ruth Johnson in Boundbrook NJ. He spent his career as a services technician in the telecommunications industry and moved to Florida from New Jersey in 1987. Carl was an accomplished woodworker and handled a variety of projects including carving carousel horses. He was also famous for his collection of bright and varied sports jackets which he wore with pride.

Surviving Carl is his wife of 54 years Elaine Ley Johnson and two sons: Robert (Debra) Johnson of Lexington SC and Thomas (Bobbie) Johnson of Palm Coast. A third son David Johnson preceded Carl in death. Carl is also survived by his siblings Olof (Violet) Johnson of Lakewood CA and Miriam Haas of Kingman AZ. Six grandchildren also survive: Chris Tiffany Matt Sierra Christian and Tori.
