Carl Vernon Dixon 70 passed peacefully at his home in Port Orange Florida on February 5 2009.
He was born January 15 1939 to Carl Vinson and Lillian (Kersey) Dixon in Ashland Kentucky.
Carl graduated in 1957 from Holy Family High School in Ashland. After serving three years as a corporal in the United States Marine Corps Carl married Sue Anne Gossett who precedes him in death.
He continued his education at Ohio State University and later at Syracuse Graduate School of Marketing. His professional career began as a Foreman in South Shore Kentucky with Hooker Chemical. Carl advanced to plant manager in Kenton Ohio and later as a director of Manufacturing in North Tonawanda New York and Dallas Texas. He retired in 1994 after 30 years of distinguished service with the Durez Division of Occidental Chemical Corporation.
Carl is survived by his wife Patricia Woytila-Dixon three children: Jennifer(Doug) Elliott of Ada Ohio Cathy(Peter) Diroff of Sarasota Florida and Chris(Dara) Dixon of Tiffin Ohio two step-children: Gary Woytila and Gregory Woytila of North Tonawanda New York: two grandchildren: Matthew Meyers-Elliott of Ada Ohio and Brooke Sue Dixon of Tiffin Ohio and four step-grandchildern: Kristin and Kyle Elliott and Adam and Joel Woytila: three sisters Donna(Mills) Hurn Brenda(Jim) Nolan of North Carolina and Kay Cassidy of Kentucky: and one brother Randy Dixon of North Carolina.
Carl enjoyed spending time with is family and loved the game of golf. He has passed his love of golf on to his children and grandchildren. His love for the game of golf took him to some of this country's most beautiful and prestigious courses including Augusta National. He was also invited and played in a PGA Senior Pro-Am in Myrtle Beach SC. He was a member of the Catholic Church the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks and The Knights of Columbus.
