Calvert (Cal) Janssen
Mr. Janssen was born in Fort Dodge, Iowa, and was raised on the family farm near Bode. In addition to working on the farm, Cal also participated in 4H and school sports. In fact, Cal still holds the Twin Rivers High School record in the 1-mile run.
It was at Iowa State University where Cal received a degree in Industrial Administration that he discovered his path in life, a path that would lead him to many locations both within the US and around the world. He worked in the IT field for several Fortune 500 companies, eventually becoming owner/director of his own consulting company based in the Czech Republic.
Cal never met anyone with whom he couldn't strike up a conversation. His network of friends is worldwide. He will be sorely missed.
Mr. Janssen is survived by his partner Jill Andreasen of Daytona Beach, FL; sister Carmen (Lisa Smith) Janssen of Des Moines, IA; son Christopher (Jennifer) Janssen of Manchester, IA; granddaughters Allison of Dubuque, IA, and Joy of Manchester; and great-granddaughter Ava Jasper.
Cal was preceded in death by his parents Max and Betty Jean (Bates) Janssen; and his son Michael.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the Drive In Church or to Hope Place.

Funeral services for Cal Janssen will be held Monday, September 13, 2021, at 11:00am in the chapel of the Daytona Beach Drive-In Christian Church. Visitation will start at 10:30am and continue until the time of the service.
