Caliope P. Pappavaselio, 95, of Ormond Beach, FL passed away, March 27, 2014 at at her home surrounded by her loving family. Graveside Services will be held on Monday; March 31th at 1:00 p.m. at Daytona Memorial Park, Daytona Beach, Florida.
Caliope was born November 11, 1918 in Portsmouth, New Hampshire to John and Arhoundou (Velonis) Pandapas. She and her husband relocated in 1957 to Ormond Beach from Marblehead, Massachusetts. She was a homemaker and a parishioner at St. Demetrious Greek Orthodox Church. She helped her husband build a thriving business, enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, but most of all she loved caring for her family. She lived her life with grace, dignity, and kindness.
She is survived by her daughters, Janice Pappas, New Port Richey, Florida, and Deborah Pappas, Ormond Beach. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband of _55_ years, James "Jim" Pappavaselio in 2003, her son, Thomas James Pappas in 1983, and a daughter, Karen Pappas in 1973. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Caliope's memory to St. Demetrious Greek Orthodox Church, Daytona Beach, FL, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 .
