Byron "Ron" F. Dawes Jr., 85, passed away on Tuesday August 30th, 2022, at Advent Hospital. A celebration of his life will be held at First Christian Church, 326 Palmetto Ave., Daytona Beach, Florida 32114, on September 24th at 2:00 p.m.

Ron was born on July 16th, 1937, in Glens Falls, New York, to Byron and Patricia Dawes. Naval service took him from pole to pole on an ice breaker as part of DeepFreeze II. He attended Western Reserve University for a brief period upon his discharge. He then worked in various sales capacities until 1978, and moved to Southern California where he formed a Manufacturer's Representative Agency. The balance of his working days were spent operating that and one other agency.

Ron and his wife Terri retired to Ormond Beach, Florida in 2003, where he spent his remaining years golfing and riding motorcycles. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church and was a long-time member of AA, where he helped hundreds of people.

He is survived by 5 of his 6 children: Byron III, Stephanie, Jon Craig, Charles Christian, Jonathan Nicholas, 18 grandkids and 7 great-grandkids. He has joined his devoted wife of 50 years Terri, his oldest son Jefferson, his brother Preston, and sister Diana in heaven. He was a great man who lived a full life and will be missed by many.
