Obituary

Bryan Charles (Chuck) Berry, 66, of Ormond By The Sea, passed away June 15, 2024 at Advent Health Daytona Beach after a lengthy illness. He was predeceased by his mother, Betty M. Berry; father, Bryan Jennings Berry and wife of 39 years, Ellen Marie Berry.

Chuck was born in Jacksonville, FL on May 7, 1958.  He moved to Ormond Beach when he was 8 years old and attended area schools.  Chuck married his high school sweetheart, Ellen Marie Schweiger, shortly after graduation.  Chuck enlisted in the US Navy and was stationed in Charleston, SC, Pensacola, FL and Jacksonville, FL with a career spanning 20 as a Chief Petty Officer E7.

Chuck and Ellen were Nascar race fans also built and raced their own cars at local tracks.  Chuck enjoyed watching college football, especially the Florida Gators.  Chuck loved his family and will be greatly missed.  Chuck and Ellen were both animal lovers; and have rescued several cats.  Chuck is survived his sisters, Rebecca Acree, Elizabeth Duncan; brother, James David Berry; nieces, Jennifer Teate, Jessica Mims, Laura Stearns, Mellisa Banach, Beth Anthony, Amy Berry and Annie Shay: nephews, David Lee Berry, Kevin Shay and sister-in-law, Christine Shay.

A Graveside Inurnment Service will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2024 1:00PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218.
