A Private ?Celebration of Life? ceremony was held for Bruce David Johnson age 78 at the home of his sister Joan Baliker. Mr. Johnson passed away at the Hospice Care Center 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange FL. Bruce was born on August 4 1927 in Chicago Il. to Carolyn and Joseph Johnson. He served his country during WWII and was honorably discharged from the US Navy. He was a member of the American Legion Norwegian-American Club The Loyal Order of the Moose and the Eagles Lodge. In his 20?s he performed on stage as a comedian later moved to Florida and worked as an apartment maintenance supervisor. His hobby was fishing and ?telling tall tales.?
He will be deeply missed by his surviving family members; a son Jimmy Johnson of Las Vegas NV 3 daughters; Christine Craig Azzarello of Plainfield IL. Sandy Allen Salerno of Sterling IL. and Jo Shiro of Dixon IL. He is survived by 4 sisters; Beverly Bristow Pitts of Captain Cook HI. Carolyn Sherman Roth of Ormond Beach FL Joan James Baliker also of Ormond Beach and Joyce Eastwood of Sante Fe NM. Bruce has 14 grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren 7 nephews and 4 nieces that will sadly miss him.
