Bruce’s life was marked by his deep faith, love for learning, devotion to family, and commitment to serving others.

Bruce Randall Haviland Hole, 73, of DeLand, Florida, passed away on October 25, 2026. He was born on September 26, 1953, in Miami, Florida.

Bruce’s life was marked by his deep faith, love for learning, devotion to family, and commitment to serving others. While living in South Florida, he met the love of his life, Melanie, at Hollywood Bible Chapel in Hollywood, Florida. Their friendship blossomed into a lifelong romance, and they were married at the same church where they first met. Together they shared more than 46 years of marriage, building a loving home centered on faith, family, and fellowship.

Throughout his career, Bruce dedicated 15 years to helping others as a respiratory therapist. He later worked for 13 years as an assembler with Lowe’s and also spent several years employed by Sparton Corporation. No matter where he worked, Bruce was known for his strong work ethic, steady character, and willingness to help those around him.

As a young man, Bruce enjoyed skiing and boating and embraced many adventures throughout his life. He loved camping with his family, creating treasured memories around campfires and in the great outdoors. He also studied martial arts and maintained a lifelong pursuit of personal growth and discipline.

A devoted student of Scripture, Bruce’s passion for God’s Word shaped every aspect of his life. His commitment to biblical study led him to earn a Master of Divinity degree, and he was diligently working toward a Doctorate of Missions. Bruce served as the spiritual leader and Rabbi of the Messianic Fellowship of Daytona Beach since 2004.  Whether teaching, discussing, or quietly studying the Bible, Bruce found great joy and purpose in deepening his understanding of his faith.

Above all else, Bruce cherished time spent with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend whose kindness, wisdom, and unwavering faith left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Bruce is survived by his beloved wife, Melanie Hole; his son, Heinrich Haviland Hole of Barberville; his daughters, Mariah Ann Dumas (Jere) of Orange City and Heather Havilah of Daytona Beach; his brother, Dwight LeRoy Oak (Jan) of Jacksonville; and his cherished granddaughters, Elissa Jo and Michaela Rachael.

A Celebration of Life service will be held by the family at a later date.

Bruce will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered for his steadfast faith, gentle spirit, and the love he shared so freely with his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and in the enduring example of a life devoted to God and those he loved.
