Brenda Elaine Richburg
Formerly of Port Orange, FL passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021. Elaine was a graduate of Bethune Cookman College (University) where she received her bachelor's degree and then went on to fulfill her career ambitions as an educator. She used her talents in drawing and singing to enrich not only the lives of her students, but also her friends and family.
She was a faith led woman who received Christ in 1966 and from that moment she dedicated her personal life to serving her community.
Elaine's time in Brooklyn, NY and then Port Orange, FL saw her bless her community in a variety of ways to include cooking exquisite meals, singing beautiful songs, and serving as a prayer intercessor at her church home, Word of Faith Family Church (Altamonte Springs, FL), for those near and far.
In her professional life she sought to uplift students in every opportunity. She chose the path of being a educator where she excelled in that arena for 30+ years and earned her retirement from the Florida public schools system.
Elaine is survived by her mother Louise Nesbit and her siblings Shelia, Santo, Sherrie, Toney, and Victor.
She was the loving aunt to Louis, Viccoria, Uniqua, Santo, Oprecia, and TyNeiko.
Elaine was one of the favorite cousins to a large extended family that includes hundreds and a valued friend to even more.
The family will receive guest for a visitation at Lohman Funeral Home Port Orange, 1201 Dunlawton Ave Port Orange, FL 32127 on Friday March 12, 2021 from 3:00Pm to 7:00PM A Homegoing Funeral Service will take place on Saturday March 13, 2021 at 12:00PM (noon) at Word of Faith Family Church; 275 W Central Pkwy Altamonte Springs, FL 32714 with Pastor Steve Ingram presiding.
