Brenda M. Akarjalian, 68, of Daytona Beach, Florida passed away on Tuesday, April 29, 2014.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, May 1, 2014 between the hours of 3:00 P.M and 5:00 P.M., at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona, 1423 Bellevue Avenue, Daytona Beach, Florida.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Friday, May 2, 2014 in the chapel of the funeral home. Entombment will immediately follow at Daytona Memorial Park.

Brenda was born in Birmingham, England on June 1, 1946 to the late Herbert Woodcock and Dorothy Lawrence Woodcock. She was raised in Canada and became a U.S. citizen in 1994.

Brenda worked as a secretary for many years for a paper manufacturer in Canada. She was an active member of the Sand Dollar Chapter of the Embroiderers' Guild of America. Brenda also served as librarian and editor of their newsletters. She loved to embroider, sew, cross stich, crochet, knit, quilt and paint. Brenda shared her talents in these areas by passing on her knowledge through teaching, and is well known for her clear and thorough directions. She was actively involved in charity work with the Guild. Brenda will be greatly missed by all of her friends in the group.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory husband, Vartan; stepson, Jack; daughter in law, Claudette; granddaughter, Grace, whom affectionately called her Bebe; cousin, Rita Causti; and her husband Jim.
