Miss Bobette P. Murphy 88 of Port Orange Florida passed away Tuesday afternoon January 13 2009 at her residence. Born in Amsterdam New York on June 29 1920 she was the daughter of the late Francis P. and Lotta Guffin Murphy. Bobette received her education at St. Mary's Institute and graduated from Wilbur H. Lynch Senior High School class of 1939 in Amsterdam. She also attended Mildred Elley Business School in Albany New York. Bobette was employed at Mohawk Carpet Mills in Amsterdam for 11 years and for General Electric Company in Schenectady New York and Daytona Beach Florida for 35 years retiring in 1986. While residing in Amsterdam Bobette was a parishioner and communicant of St. Mary's Church in Amsterdam the G.E. Woman's Club in Schenectady and the G.E. Pensioners in Daytona Beach. Her loving family she left behind in Port Orange Florida Jody and Maria White and their loving children who she loved as her own grandchildren Shannon Kathleen and Kelly Ann White survive Bobette along with many friends in Florida and Amsterdam. Funeral services will be held on Friday morning January 23 2009 at 11:00 at the Chapel at St. Mary's Cemetery in Fort Johnson New York. There will also be a local Mass Service held January 25 2009 at 11:00am at Epiphany Catholic Church. There are no calling hours.
