Mrs. Beverly Jean Gabriel 52 went to be with the lord on Friday June 17 2005 while surrounded by her loving family at her home in Port Orange. Funeral Services will be held on Monday June 20 2005 at 11:00 AM at Lohman Funeral Home Daytona Chapel with Pastor George Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. Family will receive friends on Sunday June 19 2005 from 6-8PM at the Funeral Home.She was born on April 9 1953 in Wichita Falls TX. She obtained her Associate of Science degree in Nursing from Jefferson State Junior College in Birmingham Alabama and began her nursing career at University Hospital in Birmingham Alabama. In 1981 she moved to Daytona Beach and Began Working at Halifax Medical Center. She obtained her Associate of Arts Degree from Daytona Beach Community College in 1984 her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Central Florida in 1987 and her Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Central Florida Family Nurse Practitioner Program in 1996. When she obtained her Bachelor of Science degree she graduated cum laude was on the President?s Honor Roll and the Deans List and she was a member of Sigma Theta Tau Phi Kappa Phi and the Golden Key Nation Honor Societies. While working on her Master of Science degree she obtained the Association of Operating Room Nurses Graduate Scholarship and she was chosen as Who?s Who Among students in American Universities and Colleges. She pioneered the recognition and institution of Registered Nurse First Assistants at Halifax Medical in the early 1990?s and powered the way for many nurses to work in that capacity. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Harbor Oaks and she supported many churches and ministries. She also volunteered many hours to the Boy Scouts of America and to the fundraising efforts of the local Christian radio station. She is survived by her husband of 21years James P. Gabriel II; Daughter Tina Marie Watson; Grandson Blair Christopher Watson; Mother Wuanita Robinson; Sister Linda Robinson; Two Brothers Tom and James Robinson; Mother and Father in-law Elizabeth Gabriel and James P. Gabriel Sr.; sister in-law Susan Donigan; Brothers in-law Peter and Mark Gabriel; and Many Nieces and Nephews.Condolences may be sent via the family guestbook at www.lohmanfuneralhomes.com.
