Memorial services for Mrs. Betty Shirley Springer who passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at home Sunday August 27 after a lengthy illness will be 4:00pm Thursday August 31 2006 at Baggett & Summers Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Moorehead officiating.

A proud native of Bartow Fl Betty moved to S. Daytona 41 years ago. She was a homemaker and a Methodist. She graduated from the Summerlin Institute and also attended Florida State University.

Betty enjoyed boating with her husband John. In the summer months Betty and John spent time at their mountain home in Tennessee.

Among Betty?s many accomplishments a few select of which she was most proud include; Past President of the Cricket Club of Bartow FL Past Worthy Matron of Tropical Chapter #38 Order of the Eastern Star Bartow FL Charter Member of the G.E. Wife?s Club a member of the Halifax Cruse Club and a volunteer for the Pinkadilly at Ormond Beach Memorial Hospital.

Betty is survived by her husband of 41 years John a son Jack Murphy Phillips Jr. and his wife Sheryl two grandchildren Amanda of Vero FL Jason of Bartow FL and a brother Frank B. Smith Jr. of Bartow FL.
