Betty Lou Remington 85 of Ormond Beach passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Bridgeview Center on February 2 2012. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday February 4th in the Chapel at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 West Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach with visiting hours from 1-2 pm. A reception will follow at the funeral home. An additional memorial service will be held in Pennsylvania at a later time.

She is survived by her husband of 63 years Phillip Jack Remington; her daughters Vicki Smedley of Jersey Shore PA and her husband Bill; Cynthia Marriott of Ormond Beach and her husband Frank. She is also survived by grandchildren Mark Leese Kentucky; Matthew Leese Jersey Shore; Becky Leese Williamsport PA; Lindsay Marriott of Ormond Beach and her daughter Kylie Sellers; Katherine Massfeller Ormond Beach and her son Logan Hadley as well as great-grandchildren Marissa Leese Evan Leese Erika Leese Derek Leese and Jared Thompson and Izariah Leese. Additional survivors include her loving brother Dean Brewer and his wife Ellen of Malvern PA. She was predeceased by her brother Raymond Brewer and great grandson Isaac Thompson.

Betty Lou was a wonderful fun-loving person who lived a very full life. Originally from Wallingford Pennsylvania she was the life of every party and enjoyed golf tennis bridge snow-skiing and travel. She celebrated her 55th birthday by parachuting out of an airplane. Her final ski vacation was at age 70 when she skied with Cindy in Banff Canada. She was an avid reader and took classes throughout her life to enrich her experiences. She worked as a dance teacher and was also a Realtor in her husband's real estate company Remington Realtors in Folsom PA. She participated in little theater groups and was usually the star of the show. She was a dedicated volunteer at Valley Forge Military Hospital during the Vietnam War era.

Betty Lou and Jack travelled extensively around the world to some of the most fabulous destinations including the French Rivera China and Switzerland. They moved to Plantation Bay in 1994 and happily retired to a rich social life including competitive golf and tennis. Betty Lou was twice the Women's Senior Golf Club Champion at Plantation Bay.

Betty Lou was a loving wife mother sister and grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Betty Lou's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project 4899 Belfort Rd. Suite 300 Jacksonville FL 32256.
