Betty W. Myers of Daytona Beach passed away in Halifax Medical Center on Saturday August 29 2009 following a brief illness. A gathering of friends will be held Monday August 31 from 10:00am until 10:45am followed by a celebration of life service at 11:00am at the New Hope Baptist Church 1675 Taylor Rd. Port Orange FL. Interment will be at Laurel Springs Baptist Church Laurel Springs NC. Betty was born on June 12 1926 to Cary and Georgie Wagoner in Billings Montana. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert F. Myers of 58 years; her parents Georgie & Cary Wagoner and an infant son William C. Myers. She is survived by her children: Robert F. MYERS Jr. and wife Barbara of Laurel Springs NC Hilda Burton and husband Robert of Hockessin DE and Mary Beth Simmons and husband Mike of Wilmington NC; 5 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; a special friend the Rev. Dennis P. Bucher; and many cousins nieces and nephews. Betty and her husband owned and operated a motel and restaurant in Laurel Springs NC for many years before retiring and moving to Daytona Beach. She was a founding member of New Hope Baptist Church where she was Deacon Chairperson and an active member of several committees at the church.
