Betty Jee of Daytona Beach passed away quietly on Friday January 22 2010 at the Port Orange Hospice. A Memorial Service in her honor will be held Friday February 12 2010 at 1:00pm at the Central Baptist Church 142 Fairview Avenue Daytona Beach. A deeply loved person friend and mother. Betty came to the United States in the sixty's and married Ted Jee and began a life in Bloomington Indiana. There she and her husband ran the Gold and Black diner on the Purdue Campus. From there they moved to St. Augustine where they owned the Lion Motel at the base of the bridge of lions. In 1972 they moved to Daytona Beach where they adopted a son from Korea. For the next twenty years she and her husband owned the Atlantic Waves motel and the Atlantic Dunes motel and cottages. Upon her retirement she and her husband traveled extensively. They fulfilled a lifelong dream of going to all 50 states and all 7 continents. They traveled around the world twice by cruise ship. Enjoying every bit of time with each other. Upon her husbands passing in 2000 she became more involved with her church Central Baptist. She loved attending Sunday school Wednesday night gatherings crafts and everything involving the church. A strong faith and love of life fueled her body. Her infectious laugh brightened up a room and her love was felt by all who knew her. Her greatest joy in her last months was spending time with all of her grand children. Until the end she was upbeat and beautiful she died as she lived on her terms. She leaves behind a son Thomas Daughter in law Rose and granddaughters Mia Mailee and Morgan all of Daytona. A sister in Hong Kong A nephew in Colorado and 3 nephews and a niece in Hong Kong and numerous other relatives throughout the world. She is now at peace and with her husband and she is happy.
