Betty M. Dean age 83 of Daytona Beach passed away on Monday August 5 2013.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday August 11 2013 at Central Baptist Church 152 Fairview Ave Daytona Beach FL 32114.

Betty was born on September 7 1929 in to the late Bessie Davis and Sidney Marble in Great Barrington Massachusetts.

She moved to Florida in 1935 with her family from Sheffield Massachusetts and she was a graduate of Mainland High School Class of 1947. Following graduation Betty attended Florida State University where she earned her Bachelor's degree in Music.

Kind hearted and generous Betty was devoted to her family and her faith. She was a talented musician playing piano and organ in her churches First Methodist and Central Baptist. Betty also played clarinet in the Daytona City Band in her youth.
She retired from the Daytona Beach News Journal where she worked for many years as a bookkeeper in the classifieds department.

She leaves behind her loving daughter Lois Dean of Daytona Beach; granddaughter Keri Dean of South Daytona; many extended family members and friends.

Her parents and sister Lois Doty preceded her in death.
