Betty King Curry, 88, resided in DeLand, Fl. She went home to be with Jesus on July 18, 2014 while resting peacefully. Born in Dayton, Ohio, January 1, 1926, to Logan and Henrietta King. She was married to Rev. James E. Curry for over 61 years. Betty is survived by 5 children; son Logan Curry & his wife Frances, daughters Rebecca Curry, Deborah Smoak, Cynthia Clements and husband Gary, Jamie Luxton and husband John. She was blessed with and cherished numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. June Stieber, 91, of Macon, Georgia is her beloved sister.
Betty was an active member of Stetson Baptist Church and had an unshakeable relationship with her savior, Jesus Christ. Her favorite saying was "kill them with kindness" and she always maintained the peace. She could command a room with her calm, steady voice. Her passions were teaching Sunday School, playing the piano/organ, black coffee, bird watching, enjoying hours of fun with her family, and above all else, her faith. Betty is remembered as a never ending ginger snap supplier, a remarkable woman, and the perfect example of God's grace. She taught her family that a life lived for Christ would yield the greatest reward; she passed with a peaceful knowledge she was going to her final resting place.
