Betty Jo Babic 85 of Ormond Beach a beloved wife and mother left this world for her heavenly home on Thursday March 28 2013. Betty Jo was born March 25 1928 in Columbus Ohio to Otis and Josephine (McKenna) Sipe. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday March 30th between the hours of 2:00 - 3:00 pm with a Celebration of Life service at 3:00 pm with Rev. Dr. Michael Foley officiating at Lohman Funeral Home; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach.

Betty Jo and her husband relocated to Ormond Beach in 1962 from Columbus Ohio. She and her husband were the proud owner and operator of Ocean View Market on S. Atlantic Ave. for 30 years. She was a member of Ormond Beach Presbyterian Church past president of the Pilot Club of Halifax Area and past president of Florida Hospital Ormond Memorial Auxiliary. Betty Jo was also instrumental in starting a support group for the ALSA (Lou Gehrig's disease) in 2001 and was the facilitator for the Ormond Beach Support Group. In April of 2003 she was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Senior Division by the United Way and in August of 2003 she was given the Daily Points of Light Award.

Betty Jo is survived by her husband of 67 years Stanley P. Babic son Michael S. Babic Chattanooga TN daughter Susan Lisicki Ormond Beach FL five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who will deeply miss her.
