Funeral Services for Bess Swann McCain Mann 101 years of age will be held graveside on Sunday September 10 at 2pm at The New Cleveland Cemetery in Cleveland Mississippi. Mrs. Mann passed away Monday September 4th at the Health Center of Daytona Beach.
Born in Noxubee County Mississippi she was one of the seven children of Allie and Louise Cavett Swann. Mrs. Mann was a 1925 graduate of Mississippi State College for Women in Columbus MS. and lived in Cleveland MS for 30 years and then in Osceola Arkansas for 30 years prior to moving to Daytona Beach in 1992. She was a member of Central Baptist Church the Colonial Danes Daughters of the American Revolution and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. She was also an active member of the First Baptist Church in Osceola Arkansas for many years. Mrs. Mann also enjoyed playing bridge and reading. During her lifetime she was a teacher social worker and a housewife.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Joe P. McCain in 1937 and her second husband Victor G. Mann in 1981 and her daughter Hallie Woodson in 1996. Survivors include a daughter Betty Jo Bullard Daytona Beach a sister Hallie S. Peterson Daytona Beach; 2 grandchildren: Lesa Crockett New Orleans LA. and Steve Woodson Metarie LA. and five great grandchildren. Also surviving are a son by marriage Ray Mann of Osceola ARK. 2 daughters by marriage Joyce Mathews Knoxville TN and Gaines Mann Nashville TN. Also surviving are seven grandchildren by marriage.
