Bertha Rosemarie Leitten 91 of Port Orange FL entered into eternal life at 2:55 a.m. Thursday December 25 2008 at Countryside Lakes in Port Orange.
Bertha was born November 28 1917 in Scranton PA the daughter of William and Mary (Skromak) Boruta. She was united in marriage to Robert Leitten on July 27 1940. She moved to the Port Orange area in 1987 from Venice FL originally from Hamburg NY. Bertha loved gardening designed and made customized shirts was an avid doll collector and a lifelong bingo player and bowler. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. Bertha is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years Robert; two brothers William and Richard Boruta and two brothers-in-law Paul Karanik and George Pawlson. Survivors who cherish her memory include her son Brian (wife Lynn) Leitten of Port Orange; her brother Stanley (Alberta) Boruta of Loris S.C.; her two sisters Jenny Pawlson and Irene Karanik of Hamburg NY; her sister-in-law Christine Boruta of Lake View NY; and her three grandchildren Jude Susan Leitten Brian Joseph Leitten and Steven Michael Leitten.
A private memorial service is planned at a later date.
