Benjamin T. Wrubel 78 of Port Orange died July 16th 2010 after a long illness. A Celebration of Life service with Military Honors is scheduled for Friday July 23 2010 at 3:30 p.m. at the chapel of Cardwell Funeral Home 3571 S. Ridgewood Ave. Port Orange preceded by a gathering of friends beginning at 2:00 p.m. Ben was born in Middletown Ct. on March 24th 1932. Ben was a Navy Veteran a member of Phi Sigma Delta Fraternity at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design. He worked as a designer for Ford Motor Co. as an engineer for ITT and later taught engineering drafting at Daytona Beach College. After retiring from teaching he and his wife owned and operated Classy Consignments of Port Orange for 20 years. Ben was a talented artist; he enjoyed bicycling computers and photography. Those who knew him well will fondly remember him for his interesting personality and dry sense of humor. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years Joan; his son David and wife Rikki of Copenhagen Denmark; his step daughters Linda Gessner and husband Dave of Seminole FL and Cindy Kautter and husband Rich of Edgewater; his grandchildren Erin Daniel Julie Shawn Kenny and My; his great grandchildren Cheyenne Brandon Garrett Ethan lan Caleb Riley Kendal and Lincoln; and his sister Ruth Kukulka and husband Ted of Vernon Ct.
