Obituary

On Sunday, December 6, 2020, Beatrice Godfrey Williams 88 of DeLand Florida, passed peacefully with family by her side. She was a loving wife and mother of 11. Beatrice was born on February 7, 1932 in Camillus, New York to Lester and Dorothy Case Godfrey. She was married to Russell Williams on March 8, 1952. They raised 11 children together before retiring to DeLand, Florida. They had 101 grand, great grand, and great great grandchildren.
Survived by her children: Suzanne Peltier (Don), Austin, TX, Judith Sweet (predeceased), Russell Thomas (Tom) Williams (Ellen), Elbridge, NY, Richard Williams, Liverpool, NY, Terry Giese (Don), Bowie, MD, Lynn Stevenson (Gary), Pennellville, NY, William (Bill) Williams (Jeanette), Cicero, NY, Patricia Baum (Darryl), Auburn, NY, Christine Simmons (Alan), Cato, NY, Daniel Williams (Jenny), Panama City, Fl., Joseph Williams (Charlotte), Orlando, NY. Siblings: Norma Thomas, John Godfrey, James Godfrey.
Bea was predeceased in death by her husband, Russell Williams, parents Lester and Dorothy Case Godfrey, sisters Alma Greenwald, Patricia Weatherstone, brothers Lester Godfrey, William (Billy) Godfrey, and great granddaughter, Taylor Fentress Schell.
Beatrice loved raising her children and being with family and friends. She was a devout catholic and very passionate in her faith. She enjoyed traveling to all 50 states, puzzles, knitting, Hallmark movies, playing cards, and eating out. She was an amazing stay at home mom. She was involved in school PTA, girl scouts, church choir, NY Club, and much involvement in both St. Bridget's and St. Peter's churches.
Bea attended a one room school house in Hartlot, NY, Elbridge Grammar School, Powellston Institute. She worked at Ann Lawler's tax service in Jordan, NY after the last kids were in high school.
A memorial service will be held at St. Peter's church in DeLand, Florida on Monday, December 14 at 3:00. There will also be a service at St. Mary's of the Lake in Skaneateles, NY (details tbd).
