Beatrice Edna Mott passed into heaven peacefully on Tuesday, December 22. She spent her last day surrounded by her family. Born to Ruth and Frederick Mellgren on July 12, 1924 in Phoenix Arizona, Beatrice's family soon relocated back to New York where she shared her time living in the city during the school year and the Catskill Mountains in the summer. Bea held many fond memories of summers spent on her grandparent's farm.
In 1956 Beatrice moved her family to Florida, originally settling in Ft. Lauderdale and eventually moving to DeLand. Her early years in Florida were kept busy raising four children and working as the Chief Cashier for Food Fair. Bea also worked at Nova Elementary School in Ft. Lauderdale as the school cafeteria cashier. This was a job she enjoyed as she was so fond of the kids who passed through her line every day, including her own.
In DeLand she worked for Stroud Cleaners for 18 years where she was fondly known by many as "Ms. Bea." She truly loved interacting with the customers and considered many of them her friends.
To her family she will always be remembered as a wonderful Mom, Grandmother and Great Grandmother. We will dearly miss her presence in our lives. Bea is preceded in death by her husband, Donald Mott, son William Salveson, and brother Norman Foss. Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Robert Salveson (Joan) Apopka, Jon Mott (Tiffany)Palm Harbor, daughter Pam Womack (Butch) DeLand, sister Regina Jackson California, Grandsons Norman, Clint and Luke. Granddaughters Sandra and Erica and Great Grandchildren Blake, Austin, Hannah, Destiny, Levi and Camden.
The family will celebrate Bea's life in a private family service. Please share your memories and condolences with the family at www.lohmanfuneralhomes.com. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Halifax Health Hospice, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange, FL 32129
