Beatrice W. Hodgson 91 of Orange City passed away on Tuesday August 12 2008. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday August 16 2008 at 11:30 am in the Chapel at John Knox Village in Orange City. She was born on October 25 1916 in Killingly CT. to Earl and Ida May Winslow. Mrs. Hodgson attended the Julliard School of Music and was an accomplished saxophone player. Beatrice was a community volunteer and received the North Carolina Governor's Award for Outstanding Volunteer Services. She moved to this area in 1999 from Lumberton NC and was a member of the Emmaus Lutheran Church. She is preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Oliver Hodgson. Survivors include her son and daughter in law Ollie and Rosalie Hodgson of Deland and her daughter and son in law Valerie and Skip McGaughey of Asheville NC also her three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind many dear friends at John Knox Village. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Beatrice's memory to Odyssey Healthcare Hospice 149 S.
