Basil Frederick Kinney age 81 of Deland formerly of Bunnell passed away on Tuesday April 24 2012. An 11:00 AM visitation until a 1:00 PM funeral service in his honor will be held on Friday April 27 at the Deland Chapel of the Lohman Funeral Home. Basil was born in Waterbury Connecticut to Basil James and Margaret Kinney. He was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War and dedicated his life as a truck driver in the concrete industry. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus in Prospect CN and the Moose Club and the Horseman's Club. He was a witty gentleman firm in his convictions that enjoyed woodworking fishing boating traveling and horses. He leaves behind 5 children: Suzanne Kinney James F. (Sharon) Kinney Penny (Gary) Winstle Steven R. (Cindy) Kinney and Thomas E. (Pamela) Kenny 7 grandchildren 3 great grandchildren and many friends all over the state.
