Funeral Services for Basil O. Howell 97 formerly of Daytona who passed away on March 16 2007 will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday March 22 2007 at the Daytona Chapel of Lohman Funeral Homes. Interment will follow at Daytona Memorial Park. Basil was born on July 2 1909 to the late Andrew and Hassel Tine Elmore in Charleston West Virginia. She later resided in Milford Ohio before moving to South Daytona in 1965. She was an awesome homemaker and teacher to her family; whether cooking sewing canning or gardening she instilled great wisdom and determination in her family. A mother to two daughters Betty McGaha and Norma Zuckerman; grandmother to nine grandchildren; great grandmother to eleven and great great grandmother to three she leaves a strong heritage of self-reliance without arrogance. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her; yet we celebrate her life that she more than willingly shared.
