Barna K. Hodossy passed away peacefully at his home in Holly Hill Florida surrounded by his loved ones on October 10 2010 at the age of 81. A Memorial Service in Barna's honor will be held at a later date at the Jacksonville National Cemetery. Born in Kormend Hungary on October 13 1928 son to Miklos & Anna Hodossy. Barna is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Elizabeth; his son Barni Hodossy of Holly Hill FL; his niece Szabina and nephew Steve of Budapest Hungary; sister-in-law Marqit & Frank both of Budapest Hungary; and 1 Grand-Daughter and 2 Great Grandchildren of PA; as well as a number of other family members and close dear friends. Barna joined the US Army where he developed the skills of an Image Interpreter and Intel Analyst. He was stationed in Ft. Bragg NC which is where he retired after 22 years of service. Barna was a highly decorated veteran and was honored with the National Defense Service Medal Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal Vietnam Service Medal Republic of Vietnam Cross of Gallantry with Palm Meritorious Unit Commendation Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 Device Parachutist Badge Combat Infantryman Badge Aircraft Crewman Badge Army Commendation Medal Bronze Star Medal Air Medal (11 Awards) and the Meritorious Service Medal. Barna was 100% service connected and devoted his life to the military career that he adored. During his very active life Barna enjoyed spending most of his time with his family and in his passion was playing chess for he was an avid Master Chess Player.
