Mrs. Welsh has been a resident of Ormond Beach since 1983 was Catholic a member of the Tomoka Oaks Golf and Country Club where she was the women's Golf Champion for several years. She obtained her Associate's degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management. Barbara was an avid college football fan especially when it came to Notre Dame she enjoyed cooking and playing the organ. She is survived by her daughters Beth (Bret) Fossum of Houston TX Laura (Kevin) Cook Houston TX and Jennifer (Brian) Summe of Cincinnati OH a brother Joseph Welsh of Ohio her sister Mary Tinneny of Philadelphia PA and 13 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George Welsh in 1976. A Gathering of Remembrance will be held on Wednesday September 24 2008 between the hours of 2:00-5:00 PM at Lohman Funeral Home 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. Additional services and burial will be held at Arlington National Cemetery on Monday October 6 2008. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society Florida Division 3709 W. Jetton Ave. Tampa FL 33629 and or The Hospice of Volusia/Flagler 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange FL 32129.
