Barbara Anne Gorham, 88, passed away on August 6, 2024, in Palm Coast, Florida. She was born on March 11, 1936, in Norfolk, Virginia, to Luther Suiter Sr. and Bertha Harris Suiter. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Luther Jr. and Warren E. Suiter. She was also preceded in death by a beloved son, Gerald W. Gorham, Sr., and a nephew Rodney Leander Suiter.

Barbara graduated from Booker T. Washington High School and continued her education at Norfolk State University. She pursued a career as an Administrative Officer at the United States Treasury Department, Bureau of the Mint, demonstrating dedication and excellence.

As an ex-military wife, Barbara took pride in her role, offering support and raising three children across various duty stations. Her commitment to her family was unwavering, always striving to create a harmonious home environment wherever they were stationed.

Barbara's faith played a significant role in her life. She was an active member of St. Johns Baptist Church in Columbia, MD, where she volunteered to create celebratory spaces for church members' milestone events. She enjoyed painting and reading, activities reflecting her love for art and continuous learning.  Barbara was a beacon of support and positivity, deeply devoted to her family and community.

She is survived by her children, Patricia Gorham-Harrison (Isaiah) and William Gorham, Jr., PhD. a daughter-in-law- Tonya Gorham, two grandsons, Gerald Gorham Jr. and Justin Gorham, one great-granddaughter, Emery Gorham, and one adopted granddaughter, Sharron Pinkney-Hayes. Two nephews, Elgin Suiter (Andra) and Craig Suiter (Jackie). Her life stood as a testament to the power of nurturing and positivity.

A memorial service is scheduled for August 28th, 2024, at 11 am at the Lohman Funeral Home in Palm Coast, Florida, which will oversee the arrangements. Barbara will be fondly remembered for her legacy of kindness and dedication by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
