Ormond Beach - Barbara J. Geyer 50 of Twelve Oaks Trail died Friday in her home surrounded by her loving family and friends as was her wish. She fought a courageous battle against metastatic breast cancer for seven years with awe inspiring strength grace and humor. She was truly blessed with the compassionate care of her physicians and friends Dr. Richard Weiss and Dr. Pam Carbiener as well as the wonderful nurses of the Ormond Beach Halifax Oncology Center. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday July 1 2006 at 2:00 pm in the chapel at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. Barbara was born in Weston Ontario and was a resident of Ormond Beach since 1966. She was a Registered Nurse former Director of Nursing at Peninsula Medical Center Coquina Center Daytona Health & Rehab. and until the time of her passing at Sandalwood Nursing Center on Beach St. in Daytona Beach. She enjoyed an extensive variety of activities throughout her life with her loving family and friends whom will miss her dearly. She was pre-deceased by her father Herman Hoffmann. Survivors include her loving husband of twenty years Jeff; her beloved sons Derek and Blake; her mother Maria Rickard Daytona;her aunt and uncle Pam and John Painer Ormond; her aunt and uncle Rose and David Alexander Fort Erie Ontario; her beloved cousin David his wife Felicia and their three children Justin Paige and Megan; her cousin Linda and her son David. She was also pre-deceased by her loving grandparents Barbara and Rudolph Painer. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange FL 32129.
