Dr. Barbara L. Alexander, 71, of Port Orange, FL passed away in her home on the morning of September 1st, 2016. She had suffered a severe stroke in March of 2013.
She was born May 15, 1945, in Daytona Beach, Fl.
Throughout her years she was an avid fossil hunter, excellent cook, and a thoughtful advice giver. She volunteered for the South Dakota Dental bus and donated dental supplies to local charities. Her presence and wisdom will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She will live on in the hearts of those who remember her: her husband of 26 years, David Alexander, her sister Patt Livingston, daughter & granddaughter Jennifer and Halie Chalkley, son Jason Chalkley. She will also be greatly missed by her bonus son Paul Alexander, his wife Becky, and their children Claire and Ava, and bonus son John Alexander. Her bonus daughter Kelly Venegas, her husband Hector and their children Patrick and Gabrielle, and her Aunt in law Helen Bercaw.
Her family would prefer instead of flowers that donations be made to either your local dental charities or the program where she volunteered for 5 years and treated nearly 650 children : Delta Dental Mobile Program, 804 N. Euclid Ave. Ste, 101, Pierre, SD 57501.
An informal gathering will be held in her memory at her old office, which is now Parrish Family Dentistry at 729 Dunlawton Avenue from 3 to 5pmon Sunday, September 18, 2016.
