Obituary

Babette M. Fagan age 93 passed away peacefully at home on Thursday October 18 2007 following a courageous battle with cancer. Babette was born October 3 1914 in Pechgraben Bavaria Germany to the late Martin and Margaret Jahreis. She attended school in Bad Berneck Bavaria before coming to America in 1929. During WWII she worked as a riveter for the Curtiss-Wright Aeronautics Company in Buffalo NY. Babette was united in marriage to Francis Leo Fagan in 1943 at Good Shepard Church in Buffalo N.Y.Together with her husband Babette ran several farms in the upstate New York area before moving in 1958 from Angelica New York to New Smyrna Beach Florida. In New Smyrna Beach Babette worked as a cosmetician in retail sales and received numerous prizes for top sales in Florida. Babette with her husband moved to Daytona Beach in 1968 where they worked as self-employed residential real estate investors.Babette was a member of the Basilica of St. Paul Catholic Parish in Daytona Beach. She was a long time member of the Peninsula Women's Club and the Our Lady of Lourdes Council of Catholic Women. She was a member of the Bellair Bowling Sandpiper League competing regularly until she was 92 years of age.Babette is survived by her son and his wife Frederick and Elia Fagan of Ranchos Palos Verdes CA; her daughter and her husband Lorri and Charles Humphrey of Ormond Beach FL; daughter-in-law Betty Kuhn of Ormond Beach FL; seven grandchildren Nancy(Anthony) Pesusich of San Pedro CA; Natalie Fagan of Ranchos Palos Verdes CA; Lee Roy Fagan of Tallahassee FL; Christine(Jason) Neuhardt of Deltona FL; Keith Humphrey of Orlando FL; Lauren Humphrey of Orlando FL; Kristen Humphrey of Ormond Beach FL; three great-grandchildren; Avery Neuhardt of Deltona FL; Wyatt Neuhardt of Deltona FL; Jake Pesusich San Pedro CA; two brothers; Eugene(Ethel) Jahreis Amherst NY; Herbert(Meryl)Jahreis Getzville NY; one sister; Connie(Eugene) Stocker Buffalo NY. She is further survived by nieces nephews other relatives and many friends. In addition to her parents and beloved husband she was preceded in death by two brothers Pete Jahreis and Fred Jahreis; and her son Eugene Fagan. A visitation for Babette is scheduled for Wednesday October 24 2007 from 3-5 p.m. and a funeral service will take place on Thursday October 25 at 10:30 a.m. with burial immediately following in Daytona Memorial park. The careful arrangements are being provided by Lohman Funeral Home Daytona.
