Avaline Nebesnak, 93 of Ormond Beach, FL passed away on Thursday, July 20, 2017 at Florida Hospital, Daytona Beach.
She was born August 20, 1923 in Clifton, N.J. to John and Verona (Miklus) Sokol.
They had one son, Edward Jr. who was born Jan. 1950 and married Eileen George.
Another son, Stephen John was born in 1953 but passed away in infancy.
She was a parishioner at St. John Russian Orthodox Church in Passaic, N.J. it was here where she married the love of her life, Edward Nebesnak on Nov. 20, 1948
Avaline was an executive secretary with the board of Freeholders in New Jersey. She enjoyed sewing and quilting.
In 1980, she and her husband moved to Inverness, FL and attended St. Raphael Orthodox Church. In 2001 they relocated to Ormond Beach.
She is survived by her son Ed and his wife Eileen of Mine Hill, NJ, her brother Joseph Sokol, Ormond Beach, two granddaughters, Stephanie Nebesnak and Stacie Santangelo and her husband Steve as well as a great-granddaughter, Sam Cassie Santangelo. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward Sr. in Dec. 2005.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 30th from 4-6 pm at Lohman Funeral Home; 733 W. Granada Blvd. Ormond Beach. Funeral services will be celebrated on Monday, July 31st at 10:00 am at Holy Cross Eastern Orthodox Church; 375 Fleming Ave, Ormond Beach, FL 32174 Interment will follow at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
