Austin Lewis Dunn-
A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday June 18 2005 at St. Mary Episcopal Church for Austin Lewis Dunn 77 of 711 N Halifax Ave. Mr. Dunn died Monday at the Hospice of Volusia Flagler after a long illness. Family will receive friends on Friday June 17 2005 in the Chapel of Baggett and Summers Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. ? 8:00 P.M.
Mr. Dunn was born and raised in Daytona Beach and was a third generation descendant of the pioneer Dunn family who established the long-running Dunn Bros. Hardware business in 1905.
The youngest of ten children born to Edgar C. and Sarah Stilling Dunn Mr. Dunn was graduated from Mainland High School and then from the University of Florida with a degree in commercial art. While in college he was the president of his Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity.
Following college Mr. Dunn served 4 years in the US Air Force and was stationed at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi Mississippi. Mr. Dunn was married to the former Gladys B. Davidson for 48 years and together they raised 5 children while Mr. Dunn worked in and helped manage the family hardware business for 40+ years until his retirement.
After his retirement Mr and Mrs Dunn enjoyed gardening traveling with friends collecting antiques and continued to make frequent visits to their favorite ?haven? in the mountains of Balsam NC.
Mr. Dunn was predeased by his wife in October 2000. He is survived by his three sisters; Dot Warbritton of Wilmington Del. Margaret Withers of Ormond Beach and Edie Shaffer of Tampa Fl. a daughter Carolyn Tomarelli of Daytona Beach; four sons; Dr. Dave Dunn of Daytona Beach Dr. Richard Dunn of Lecanto Fl. Robin Dunn of Jasper Ga. and Dr. Gary Dunn of Dogue Va. And 13 grandchildren-Morgan Mallory Kyle Kelsey Daniel Lindsey Ryan Logan Tyler Hannah Austen and Rory Dunn and Sara Tomarelli.
In lieu of other remembrances the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Vol/Flagler 3800 Woodbriar Trail Port Orange Gl 32127 and/or St Mary?s Episcopal Church 216 Orange ave Daytona Beach Fl. 32114
