Audrey Lucy Leonard age 83 passed away on November 15 2010 at her home. She was surrounded by her four children who were the light of her life.
There will be a "Celebration of Life" on Friday November 19 2010 at Cardwell Funeral Home 3571 Ridgewood Ave Port Orange 32114 at 1 p.m. The family of Mrs. Leonard will receive friends and family at 12:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Audrey enjoyed spending time with family and loved to bowl. She spent a lot of her years traveling but it was following her husband as he went where there was work. Audrey spent some years working as an electronic assembler at General Electric in Daytona Beach. She retired early to be caregiver to her husband. Audrey was a part of the Ministry at Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church and the Epiphany Catholic Church in Port Orange. Audrey also became a volunteer for Hospice later in life.
Audrey was born on July 21 1927 in New Orleans La. She was the youngest of 13 children most of whom have preceded her in death. Audrey's husband of 65 years Calvin has also preceded her in death.
Those surviving Audrey are her children: Vincent (Jeanne) Leonard of Alaska Linda (Richard) Romero of Colorado Gale (Don) Brady of Port Orange Fla. and Janice (Randy) Monroe of Port Orange Fla. Also surviving Audrey is a sister Mildred Wild of Slidell La. a brother Charles Chauffe of Texas and a brother Milton Chauffe of New Orleans La. She also has 6 grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Audrey is going to be dearly missed by all who knew her.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler in memory of Audrey.
