Arthur R. Tew (Rudy), age 89, of Port Orange, passed away peacefully at home in his sleep on December 7, 2013. Rudy was born in Dothan, AL, and moved with his family to Daytona Beach in 1928. He graduated from Mainland High School in 1942 and attended the University of North Texas for two years, and was a veteran of the European theater of operations during WWII, serving honorably with the Army Corps of Engineers. Rudy owned and operated Jim Tew Automotive Service Center in Daytona Beach until his retirement in 1984. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Stella Tew, and by his children Jim Tew (Louann) of Ormond Beach, and Bob Tew (Bonnie) of Port Orange, and Lyne Laney of Edgewater, and her daughters Kimberly Perry (Lewis) and Tammy Laney. There will be no services held, at Rudy's request.
