Arthur Elflein age 80 of Ormond Beach passed away January 18 2009 at Florida Hospital Oceanside Hospice. A Memorial Service for Mr. Elflein will be held on Friday January 23 2009 2:00 p.m. at the Lohman Funeral Home Ormond Chapel with the Reverend James Queen officiating with the family receiving friends for a Memorial Gathering starting at 1:00 p.m. Arthur moved to Florida in 1981 from Long Island NY. with his loving wife. He served in the Army during the Korean conflict. Arthur retired after 22 years of service with the Rockville Centre Police Department in NY. He enjoyed golfing traveling rock hunting camping and panning for gold. He was an avid sports player and enjoyed playing baseball. He is survived by his wife Gail of 54 years of Ormond Beach; son and daughter in law Arthur (Carol) Elflein of Kennebunk ME; Daughter and son in law Lyn (James) Hof of St. Louis MO; grandsons Joseph Gagliardi of Queens NY and Justin Elflein of Kennebunk ME; and Greatgrandson Michael J. Gagliardi of Queens NY. Arthur is preceded in death by his two brothers; John and Richard Elflein and Grandson Arthur Paul (AJ) Elflein.
