Arthur J. "Buddy" Lynch's Obituary
Arthur J. Lynch, Sr. "Buddy", 86, of Ormond Beach passed away November 22, 2016. A Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 29, 2016 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Funeral Mass will follow at 1:00pm St. Brendan Catholic Church, 1000 Ocean Shore Blvd, Ormond Beach, FL 32176.
Buddy was born in New York City and raised in Astoria. In 1947 he graduated from Bryant High School. Buddy proudly served our country for 4 years in the US Navy. He served during the Korean Conflict on the USS Des Moines (CA-134). On August 16, 1952, Buddy married the love of his life, Mary McKenna.
Buddy worked for the Metal Lathers and Reinforcing Ironworkers, Local 46 in New York. He worked on the Proscenium Arch in Lincoln Center and the former World Trade Center, as well as numerous other buildings in Manhattan.
In 1991, Buddy and Mary retired to Florida from Whitestone, NY. Buddy loved his NY Mets, NY Giants and Notre Dame football. He was an avid fan and never missed watching a game. Buddy will be remembered as the greatest "fixer of everything". There was nothing he could not fix. Buddy had a great sense of humor, and jokes his family and friends will never forget.
Buddy will be sadly missed by his wife of 64 years, Mary Lynch; by his 5 children: Arthur Lynch, Jr. (Susan), Patricia Baldassaro (Jerry), Laura Lynch, Michael Lynch, and Janice DeLuca (Vincent); by his 8 grandchildren: Nicholas Baldassaro (Kerri), Kristin Blick (Andrew), Kt Tundermann (Scott), Andrew Tomasulo, Bryan Lynch (Kristin), Erin Tomasulo, Cayla DeLuca, and Matthew DeLuca; by his 2 great-grandchildren: Desmond and Amelia; and by his sister Jacqueline Monahan (Matthew). Buddy was predeceased by his sisters Katherine Luisi and Lillian Buchanan.
