Obituary

On Oct. 4, 2013, the world lost a man who was a bright light to all who knew him. He was the type of person who would light up a room when he entered.

Arnold S. Dumont, Jr., of Orange City, passed away suddenly at home on Oct. 4, 2013. He was born on Dec. 13, 1942, in Islip, New York. He loved hunting with his father when younger. He graduated from Dayton College in 1964. He was a veteran, serving with the U.S. Air Force. During his time in service, he served in Libya at Wheelus AFB.

He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Meriam Dumont, his daughter Gale Dumont, his sister Patricia Dumont Ford, her two children Lauren and Mark, and his sister-in-law Merriel Griffin and her daughters (and spouses), Melissa and Jeff Goldin, and Christine and Gary Williams. He is also survived by his brother- and sister-in-law James and Kathy Marlowe.

Arnold was an avid fisherman, enjoying local lakes. His favorite fishing area was his former home in the Florida Keys, and he excelled in both ocean and shallow water fishing. He was proceeded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arnold S. Dumont.
