Arno Kangur, 85 of Port Orange, Florida passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at Halifax Health Hospice, Port Orange.
He was born May 26, 1932 on the island of Saaramaa, Estonia to Juri and Elizabeth Kangur and came to the United States when he was sixteen years old, along with his parents. Arno served in the Armed Forces as a Paratrooper in the 82 Airborne. Once discharged from the Army, Arno became a proud United States citizen. In 1989 he married Carol (Mazza) Kangur, lasting twenty-eight and a half years.
Arno is survived by his loving wife, Carol Kangur of Port Orange, his daughter, Tina Dodenhoff and her husband Paul of New Jersey, four grandchildren; Peter and Erika Dodenhoff, of New Jersey; Nikki Tully and her husband, Andrew and Zakary Kangur, of New York. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren Jayden and Kaylee Tully of New York.
He was preceded in death by his son, Enno Kangur, his daughter Adele and his brother Juhan Uustal.
A Funeral Service will be held for Arno on Friday, January 5th at 6:00pm in the Chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Daytona; 1423 Bellevue Avenue Daytona Beach. Visiting hours will begin one hour prior to the service.
