Armistead W. Ellis age 84 died Fri. Dec. 10th at Halifax Medical Center. Born in Norfolk VA on August 12 1920 Armistead graduated from college and served in the US Army during WWII. After his service he began a 45 year career with Hiram Walker and retired as the VP of Distribution for the Western US. A resident of Escondido CA for many years he was an avid golfer and particularly enjoyed the game following his retirement. He was an admirable man who earned the respect of his family friends and colleagues throughout his lifetime. He was married for over 20 years to his wife Nora who preceded him in death just 6 months ago. He is survived by his 3 sons Armistead Ellis Jr. of Port Orange FL; James Ellis of Marlton NJ; Clint Ellis of Kalispell MT; his 2 daughters Mary Jane Little and Midge Ellis both of Fort Worth TX; his two brothers Jay Ellis of Ohio and Richard Ellis of St. Pete FL; his sister Alice Ellis of British Columbia 14 Grandchildren and 1 great Grandchild.
