A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday March 7 2012 in The Chapel of Lohman Funeral Home Ormond. Interment will follow in Daytona Memorial Park 1423 Bellevue Avenue Daytona Beach. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am til the service begins at the Funeral Home. A reception will be held at the conclusion of the services at Lohman Funeral Home Ormond.
Armand Joseph Valenzi 85 passed away on Friday March 2 2012 at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach.
Armand is survived by his wife of 60 years Provie; daughter Virginia Duryea of Long Island; sons Joseph (Dorrie) of New Smyrna Beach and Richard (Tondra) of Manassas VA; "Pop" was the proud grandfather to Charles Armand "AJ" Kelly Anne Jimmy Nicole and Andrea; Great-grandpa to Ryan Reaghan and Erin.
Armand was a WWII veteran flight mechanic in the Army Air Corp.
He graduated from Brooklyn Tech studied Civil engineering at Brooklyn Polytech on the GI Bill.
He built "Meadow Concrete" into a thriving business on Long Island NY where he lived in East Meadow and Oyster Bay Cove.
Armand and Provie retired to Daytona where he rebuilt their home traveled extensively to Mexico and Italy and socialized with the friends he made wherever he went.
His greatest joy over the last several years were his grandchildren. He was so proud of them and enjoyed them immensely boasting of their accomplishments small and large to everyone who would listen.
He was loved by many and will be missed!! "We Love You Pop".
