Arlene Wallace, 83 of DeLand, went home to be with the Lord on April 25, 2013.
Arlene was born on May 12, 1929 in Rahway, New Jersey and moved to Florida in 1951. She married Bill Wallace and they spent 56 years together raising their two girls in DeLand. She worked at Sherwood Medical for many years on the assembly line and worked her way up to Quality Control Inspector. She retired from the company after more than 30 years of service in May 1991. After retirement, she and Bill bought a motor home and traveled the United States taking their beloved dachshund Uby along for the ride. They visited almost every state including a summer trip to Alaska and a tour of the Hawaiian Islands. Much of her free time was spent doing ceramics working in the garden and crocheting hand-made blankets for the family. After Bill was diagnosed with cancer she spent the last few years caring for him before his death in 2010.
Arlene is survived by her two daughters - Carol Outlaw and her husband David and Coni Solomon and her husband Greg. The grandchildren include Michelle Outlaw Stacy Outlaw Adam Solomon and Aaron Solomon.
