Obituary

Mrs. Ardis M. Ahlers, 85, of Robin Drive, Deland, Florida, formerly of Napoli, NY, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at home with her family at her side, from complications of the Coronavirus.

She was born in Cottage, New York the daughter of late Charles and Anna (Pratt) Darbee. Mrs. Ahlers attended Gowanda High School and graduated from North Collins Central School.

An area resident for most of her life, Ardis moved to the Randolph, NY area, when her husband of 68 years, Herb took a job as a teacher at RCS. In addition to being the proud mother of five daughters, she also found the time to serve the Town of Napoli as Town Clerk for 29 years.

She additionally worked as a study hall teacher at RCS, worked in the audio visual department for BOCES at the Cattaraugus County Campus in Ellicottville, volunteered at the former Salamanca District Hospital with the Ladies Auxiliary and having done the same at the hospital in Deland, FL.

She and Herb were long standing members of the Napoli United Methodist Church, was acting secretary for the Home Owners and Residents Association at Meadow Lea Village in Deland, where they have lived the past 21, since the year 2000. A wonderful loving wife and mother, she also adored her 10 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.

Ardis is survived by her husband of 68 years, Herbert, 5 daughters, Cindy (Dave) Covedill of Randolph, NY, Mona Dietrick of Deland, Linda (John) Bagley and Beth Fuller all of Randolph and Debra (Greg) Myers of Lockport, NY.
